Dry Cooling - Recuperators/Regenerators

Recuperators reduce fuel consumption by utilizing waste heat recovered from the exhaust gas stream of older, lower-efficiency gas turbines. This typically increases the overall turbine efficiency by 10%.

As the existing recuperators installed on the older fleet of gas turbines serving gas pipeline compressor stations run out their service life, new units are needed. These "vintage" gas turbines require the use of a recuperator in order to maintain a reasonable efficiency compared to the newer high-efficiency units available in the marketplace.
