Case Study: Hunterstown Power Project

This 890 MW combined cycle plant has a 350 MW steam turbine (down exhaust). Based in Hunterstown, Pennsylvania, the plant was placed into commercial operation in 2003.

GEA's ACC for this plant is comprised of 50 cells in a 10x5 configuration. The ACC was designed to meet the following criteria:

ultra low noise (based on size, it is one of the world's quietest units)
modular construction with enhanced structural design to maximize grade level construction activities
hybrid air removal system suing LRVPs for hogging and SJAEs for holding
large-diameter duct (23-foot)
cold weather/freeze protection with large-diameter sectionalizing valves
7 ppb oxygen content level (deaeration required)
fin tube cleaning system
